Good afternoon everyone,
I am researching the life of my late grandfather Cyril Arrowsmith who served during the Second World War with the RASC.
I have very little information about his time in the army. All I know is that he served with the Royal Fusiliers from 1940-43 and then transferred to the RASC. He was involved in the D-Day operation and de-mobbed in 1947.
He was born in Penge, South East London on July 18th 1920 and married Violet Smith in February 1943. He may have been known as 'Charlie' to friends.
If anyone has any information about him (long shot I know) that would be immensely appreciated. If he was involved in D-Day, does anyone know what part of the RASC he would have been in?
Thanks in advance, Jason
