I have posted one letter but I think I did not do it correctly.
I have a grandfather that I never knew who worked for the War Department. He was Master Mariner in the War Department Fleet, HENRY PHILIP PRESSEY. mentioned in the London Gazette 7/10/1924. Again in the London Gazette being awarded the Imperial Service Medal by King George 23/6/1939
The reason for mentioning him here is that W.D. Fleet worked along with the RASC of which my father LEONARD HARRY GEORGE MORRIS was a Quartermaster Sargeant Major when he died Crete April 1941.
Grandfather had to be on Spike Island before 1929 with his family. My mother who was there till she married my father in Cork 1929. sometime mentioned her school life and living conditions on Spike Island but never, ever about her father (my grandfather)
Grandfather finally was based in Woolwich and was employed in the Woolwich Arsenal. He died Plumstead Hospital 1946. It has been suggested to me that maybe, and I'm not holding my breath, that there could be Records on Grandfather by the Transport side of the RASC. Can anyone help me about this possibility, please?? It has been a long haul in trying to locate any Records for him.

Forgot to mention that my father was based on Spike Island and that is how my mother met my father.
Please excuse an 80 year old who sometimes gets in a muddle.
