My grandfather was in asc during ww1...his medal index card says T4 252691 so I assume horse transport but in a picture of him his horse is not the sort of horse that would pull a wagon....also there is a pole like thing next to his rifle in a bucket attached to his saddle...is it a clue? He enlisted on 16/3/1910 No other records are available on Ancestry but I know he was gassed in France/Belgium and was discharged in 1919 4/6 due to sickness according to someone on the great war forum. can anyone give me any pointers/clues etcI could not figure out how to attach the photo Regards ann

My Grandad, Jesse Ballard would have been in the ASC at the same time. He was in Horse transport too. He was based at Aldershot, Hants but his home was in Portsmouth
