My late and much lamented Grandfather was in the ASC and was stationed in Egypt from 1915-19. During that time he was attached as an Acting Sergeant to General Allenby's Intelligence team. My Uncle and I believe that he was mentioned in Despatches at the end of the war and this was counter signed by Winston S Churchill, no less. Can anyone help me find out more about this by pointing me in the right direction for information or perhaps can furnish the information themselves.
I would be grateful for any help. ;D

You should try the archives of the British Press.Some of them will have Rolls of Honour.This is what I did here in Scotland by going through the Evening Times Roll of Honour.For the rest of Britain I think The Times does the same. Good luck in your search !
