Can anyone help? I am researching my Father's WWII history. All I have is that he was a Private No. 14819573 R.A.S.C. At some point during WWII he was in Egypt. Any information as to where I could write, or if anyone has any information, I would be grateful. Thanks

A good place to start would be to apply for his service record, have a look here www.veteransuk.info/service_records/service_records.htmlRead this carefully and follow the links to download the correct forms to fill in. If your father (or mother) is still alive they could apply for the service record as self or next of kin and there is no fee to pay, I think if you apply there is a fee. This may take a few weeks\months but they normally send you a confirmation that they have recieved the application. Please be aware that not all records survive. It should give you details of all his postings. Good Luck.

Many thanks for replying. Sadly both my Mother and Father have passed away but I will certainly try to obtain the record. Best Regards
