My Grandfather recently died and I've inherited his little shoe box containing his war memorabilia. He never talked about this war so it's quite interesting to find out what he did.
So far, I've discovered he joined up in April 1941 and was demobbed in Apr 1946. He served in Algiers, Egypt, Palestine, Italy and Greece.
The thing I find most interesting is the name of the company he was attached to. No.4 PTFOC. Very intriguing name and I wonder if anyone has information on what the role of this company was and what they did. A google search isn't turning up anything.
