Hi!
I have literally just found out that T4 stood for Horse Transport. My father was a "Driver" and I found it difficult to corrolate driving with horses!!! Can somebody explain to a dumb blonde??
My father was in Egypt and I understand from a family member that he was badly injured during a Turkish attack while he was escorting "pilgrims".
I am having a terrible time finding out information. I am a member of Ancestry and they only have his Medal Index record. No others - obviously destroyed in the fire. I cannot get to Kew (as much as I would dearly love to).
I am feeling decidedly ancient with other people asking questions about their g.grandfather, or grandfather or great uncle. I am asking about my father. He died when I was 14 and he never said anything to me about his war time memories, apart from being in Arabia the same time as T E Lawrence. When the film came out, my father was very emotional.
Can somebody help me please??
