Hi, I am really, really struggling to find out anything or anyone who knew my late father who died 14.04.08. His name is Roy jackson and he was in Egypt during October 1953 - October 1955, and then The Suez Crisis 1956. Please could you help and point me in the right direction regarding Tinternet sites I can look at or e-mail addresses I may contact to find out about his service career. I believe he was a Lance Corporal in the RASC. He lived in Preston most of his life afterwards. We are really trying to find out as we cannot locate his DMOB papers and I was told that it will be impossible to get copies.
I would appreciate any help that you could give me and our family, no matter how little.
Have a nice day
Mr Neil Jackson

Hi, I was in 49 coy from late '62 until '64. Trucks were in preservation to start then we started driver training, trainees straight from basic in UK. Included officers as well. I was one of the instructors. we had a mad scouse RSM and I also remember Capt. Bill Green as I played rugby with him. We had a great team and were among the best in BAOR at that time. Cheers.
