I am searching for my fathers war record from the 1914-1918 war where he served and the medals he recieved the originol medals were stolen

Need a bit more to go on do you have a birth year/place or names of wife/father?

Herbert Riddale born 31 July 1897 20 Farfield Street Manningham Bradford Wifes name Alice Ann Ridsdale

I can't find any that match your info. It's possible that Herbert Ridsdale Army Service Corps M/398803 may be yours, he was awarded the Victory and British medals, Roll RASC/101 B279 page 28738 there is no other information on the medal card. I would suggest you try to obtain his record, have a look here, you shouldn't need the SAR form, not all records survive. www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/service_records.html
