I have started to research my father's WW2 history. We have 5 books of photographs as well as the 'Taurus Pursuant: History of the 11th Armoured Division', which I have started to read. His many photos run from a few taken in 1941/42 up to (the majority) from 1944 to 1945. One photo is entitled Officers of 173 Div Troops Coy RASC and dated Jan 1945. The family remembers a letter he received on demob confirming that he was entitled to use the rank of Major, though he never did this. I am intending to obtain his army records but would be glad to hear of anyone who can shed any light on the history of this group. He has two photos showing Doenitz and Jodl being taken into captivity. Another photo is entitled 'TCV Group at Baexam on the Maas, December 1944' and is a picture of a company posed in thick snow. They seem to have ended up in Flensburg but certainly went through Hamburg. Any information would be gratefully received.
