Any Info about S.M. A V Smith WW2

Trying to gather as much info about my grandfather Sergeant Major AV Smith during WW2, DD+5 (1 corps, 132 company RASC MAC)

Who retired as a Major in 1962.

Would like to here from anybody who knew him and who would like to tell me any stories they have about him.

Sorry forget to mention After 1946 his surname changed to Kircher-smith.

So in 1962 when he retired he would have been known as:
Major A V Kircher-smith
