Hi
It might be an idea to expand you dates from the late 80.s as 60 Squadron served in Kenya and Aden before going to Plaisterdown Camp in Tavistock and the Deverill barackes in Ripon, West Yourshire and finally before I came out of the army, Catterick.
Only a suggestion

Sadly he has memory problems and details are fuzzy, but if you or anyone else remember him please say hello.

Hi Les I am also a son of member of 60 sqn RCT, my father was Cpl Andy Gilmour he served in Aden and was stationed after at Plaisterdown in Devon. I was born there in 1968 home was Horrabridge. Dad was killed in Germany 27th August 1973. I don't think your dad will remember him but it may jogg a few memories.

I was in A den and then went back to Plaster down camp in Devon. I was supposed to go on the run where several men were killed. It was considered a "safe" run. I exchanged with a soldier who was due to go home in a few days and undertook the Crater run. I was safe but the other soldier was killed.
