Am i right? in WW2 21nd Army Group British 2nd Army VIII Corps ...... ........ ...... 143 Coy TT RASC This Coy stayed in St Gillis Dendermonde from 24 september 1944 till 26 april 1945. The mayor wrote in his letter (1 may 1945) to Major Hartharn Commanding Officer "We considered it as a great honour to tell the people of St Gillis how you and your men appreciated their attitude. Especially now, at the end of this terrible war, we want to renew our heartfelt thanks to you, your Officers an brave men for the quick liberation of our country. We are very sorry we couldn't celebrate V-DAY together with you and your men, with whom we spent so many pleasant hours. We too will never forget you, dear Major, Officers and men of the 143 Coy Tank Transporters, and now the war is over, we hope that we see you back very soon. We never said good bye to you when you left us. We said, and will always say : 'Till we meet again' ". Today on the 5 may 2018 We still say : "till we meet again". That's the reason why i a writing this book. Can you help me please? I have to find more of those men. 180 men from Liverpool, Glagow, London, Chersington (Surrey), Longfield, Woobridge, Forestgate(London) even Canadian Signals and five Officers. Thank you Johan
